Changelog
Android 3.11.0 and Wear OS 0.5.0: crash reports and Privacy Policy 2.0
The phone and watch apps now send crash reports to Sentry (EU) without your messages, keys or account, so we can fix crashes faster. On by default, one switch to turn it off. The Privacy Policy 2.0 explains it.
- Mobile
When the codai app on your phone or watch crashes, it now tells us, so we can fix the crash instead of guessing.
What is sent
- The error and its stack trace, the app version and edition (Google Play or GitHub), the device model and the Android version.
- API keys, access tokens and file paths are removed on the device, before anything is sent.
- No account or user identifier, no screenshots, no screen recording, no messages, files or session content.
Reports go to Sentry's EU data region and are deleted after at most 90 days.
Turning it off
It is on by default. Phone: Settings › About › Send crash reports. Watch: Settings › Send crash reports. The VS Code extension follows the codai.telemetry setting and VS Code's own telemetry level.
Privacy Policy 2.0
The Privacy Policy now describes these reports. Each app asks you to accept the new version once.
