One model name, built in Romania

codai is an AI gateway and agent platform: one API key and one model name for your editor, terminal, desktop, phone and CI. It is a small, founder-led product, and this page says plainly who is behind it.

Who builds it

codai is designed and built by Dragoș Cătălin Vlădulescu, a Romanian product engineer working across cloud infrastructure, networking and full-stack apps. He writes the changelog and the docs himself.

What codai is today

The public model name codai is a fixed chain of Anthropic’s current Claude models with automatic failover. You pay per verified task, and the honesty leaderboard shows how often agents claim success they did not achieve. Our own frontier model is not served yet; when it is, the changelog will say so.

Why Romania and the EU

  • Account data and the gateway are hosted in the EU (Google Cloud europe-west1, Belgium). Model inference may run outside the EU; the subprocessors page lists where.

  • Romanian is a first-class language: the site, the docs and the apps are fully translated, and we publish a Romanian benchmark.

  • An EU operator means EU law: GDPR, the Digital Services Act and Romanian consumer protection apply to every account.
